Southport’s “We Will Not Go Back Coastal Carolina” group hosted a rally for women’s rights at Franklin Square Park on Friday, August 26. In addition to the hosts, groups in attendance included Red, Wine, & Blue; Southport Indivisible; 1469 Doors; and Brunswick County Democratic Party. Marcia Morgan, New Hanover County’s Democratic candidate for NC State Senate spoke, as did representatives from Red, Wine, & Blue and 1469 Doors. Then, three Democrats from Brunswick County running for office addressed the crowd:
Judge Quintin McGee, District Court 13 (Brunswick, Bladen, and Columbus counties)
Dr. William (Bill) Flythe, Brunswick County Board of Education (at-large Seat 3)
Eric Terashima, NC General Assembly House (District 17 in Brunswick Co.)
