Well over 100 Brunswick County Democrats gathered via Zoom for our annual convention on March 19. Out of the 23 organized precincts in the county, 21 were represented. Delegates are now set to attend the upcoming district and state conventions, and attendees were fortunate to hear from the following primary candidates, some live and others on tape:
Cheri Beasley (U.S. Senate)
Constance Love Johnson (U.S. Senate)
Rett Newton (U.S. Senate)
Charles Evans (U.S. Dist. 7 Congressional Seat)
Charles Graham (U.S. Dist. 7 Congressional Seat)
Steve Miller (U.S. Dist. 7 Congressional Seat)
Edward McKeithan (NCGA, Dist. 17, Congress)
Eric Terashima (NCGA, Dist. 17, Congress)
Although the primary election is still two months away, BCDP is endorsing several Democrats who are running unopposed for the party’s nomination. Most of these candidates spoke at our Convention as well, or sent videos for us to view. They include:
Judge Sam Ervin (North Carolina Supreme Court Associate Justice, Seat 5)
Judge Lucy Inman (North Carolina Supreme Court Associate Justice, Seat 3)
Judge Carolyn Jennings Thompson (North Carolina Court of Appeals, Seat 8)
Judge Brad A. Salmon (North Carolina Court of Appeals, Seat 9)
Judge Gale Murray Adams (North Carolina Court of Appeals, Seat 10)
Judge Darren Jackson (North Carolina Court of Appeals, Seat 11)
Judge Quintin McGee (District 13 Court Judge, Seat 2)
Bill Flythe (Board of Education, District 3)
Cameron Hankins (Board of Education, District 5)
