Deb Butler Kicks off Brunswick County Democratic Women's Forum

Please accept this invitation for all to attend our next meeting/event on Saturday , February 22 at our headquarters (1420 Old Ocean Hwy., Supply) from 11 am to 1 pm. The voting data shows that women are the most populous voting bloc in BC. Unaffiliated women are a large part of that number. To help build a stronger relationship with this important group of voters, BCDW has extended invitations to many of the activist women's groups in BC, as well as the Wilmington area, to attend our Women's Forum on February 22. The response has been very well received!

Groups will be representing many efforts including the environment/voting rights/equality/domestic abuse/immigration/education and others. The intent is listening/learning from each other, face to face. This opportunity will allow us to recognize and acknowledge the many common goals we all share. We will then move forward together, supporting each other, as we work toward success in November, and beyond. As we have witnessed these past 3+ years, there is, indeed, strength/power in women's numbers/actions/raised voices!

A few local women candidates, and women reps for local men candidates, have also been invited/will be attending to listen/learn of the issues/causes in which women are involved. This is not a political event for the candidates. Attendees can speak individually with candidates/reps at the close.

Deb Butler has agreed to kickoff the event. A most inspiring presence to rally us all for work ahead!

We will be providing lunch: Soup, mini sandwiches, fruit, desserts, drink.

Please RSVP to me (Eileen Farrell; lovatennis@gmail.com) by Wed 2/19 for lunch headcount.

All assistance appreciated re: welcome/reception of guests/set up/food prep/clean up. Will coordinate volunteers.

Also, 2020 dues ($25) now being collected. Checks payable to BCDW, can be mailed to our treasurer: Jenine Flexner 1730 W.Pelican Dr, Oak Island, 28465. Or, delivered in person on 2/22! Your funds directly support our victory fund for women candidates/our annual $1000 education grant/general fund to allow for events as this,as well as our new 3'x6' BCDW banner to be delivered by 2/17.

I know we all have full schedules at present re: early voting, poll greeting, precinct organizing, but do hope to see many of you on the 22nd! Believe this will be well worth our valuable time!

Thank you for all your ongoing efforts in turning BC BLUE!!!

Eileen Farrell, BCDW President
