Brunswick Beacon, 06.02.22: "A Thanks to All Involved with Golf Event"

Early on a Sunday morning in mid-May, 117 golfers teed off for the Brunswick County Democratic Party’s fifth annual golf tournament. As the chair for this event, I want to publicly acknowledge and thank the many players, sponsors and volunteers who helped make this year’s tournament the best ever.
We also want to thank the candidates who took time from their busy schedules to visit on Sunday. Joining us on the golf course and at lunch were:
Charles Graham, currently North Carolina General Assembly member and Democratic nominee for the Seventh Congressional District
Eric Terashima, candidate for the General Assembly’s House District 17
Bill Flythe, candidate for the Brunswick County School Board
Thanks to Dan Greco and his staff at Carolina National for serving as our host for the tournament. The golf course was in great shape, as were the food and beverages supplied for our luncheon and awards ceremonies. And a special shoutout to former sportscaster Frank Herzog, who handled his emcee responsibilities during the luncheon with flair and aplomb.
More than 22 hole sponsors and others donated prizes for our event. Without the support of Brunswick County’s business community and the many individuals in our area who support the Democratic Party, we would not have been able to raise funds for this important and successful event. We hope to see them return in 2023, when we’ll be working to break this year’s record-setting results.
