Invasion of the party snatchers, Brunswick Beacon

They walk among us, in MAGA hats and tee-shirts reading, “F*** your Feelings.” They call our first woman Vice President “Hoe.” They say they’re Republicans, but revile everything Republicans stood for. They devoured the party of Reagan from within. Reagan called Russia an “Evil Empire,” warned against the debt, and promoted the Rule of Law. Trump, and MAGA, reject all that.

Trump sided with Putin against American Intelligence when it said Putin interfered in the 2016 election to make Trump president. Trump’s National Security adviser, Michael Flynn, was convicted of lying to the FBI about his dealings with Russia during that election. Trump pardoned him.

Trump called Putin’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine a “wonderful” stroke of “genius.” He encouraged Russia to do “whatever the hell they want” to our NATO allies. With COVID running wild, Trump demanded less testing, so his numbers would look better, while secretly sending tests to his idol, Putin, who told Trump, “Please don’t tell anybody you sent these to me, because people will get mad at you.” Trump did as he was told.

Trump signed tax giveaways for the rich, ballooning the national debt by $8.4 trillion, or 42%. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimates that Trump’s spending proposals for a second term would add another $7.5 trillion in debt.

Sixteen Nobel prize-winning economists warn that Trump’s policies will “reignite inflation.” Moody’s Analytics says, “economic growth will be stronger, inflation and interest rates lower and budget deficits and debt lower under Harris’ policies than under Trump’s policies.”

Trump is an adjudicated rapist convicted of 34 felonies awaiting trial for trying to overturn the 2020 election. Trump’s contempt for the Rule of Law is so complete that he threatens to use the presidency to terminate the constitution and jail political opponents.

Trump and MAGA are an insult to everything Reagan stood for. That’s why life-long Republicans Dick and Liz Cheney support Kamala Harris.
