Brunswick Beacon, 07.25.24
If you really want to know the fundamental differences between the Brunswick political parties, check out the respective Brunswick Democratic (brunswickdem.org) and Republican (brunswick.nc.gop) websites. The Democratic website focuses on issues that will impact each one of us, our families, and communities. The Republican website avoids any mention of the important issues that we all face; instead, it focuses on fundraising and a general statement of staying in power.
The Democratic website focuses on critical issues like reproductive rights for women not cold-hearted and self-righteous state legislatures, access to health care for everyone, common sense gun control measures that the majority of Americans support, economic policies that will help the middle class and less fortunate, and a fundamental respect for our democratic freedoms that so many Americans have paid the ultimate price to establish and preserve.
The Republican website reflects their general strategy of remaining and/or gaining power at all costs. They will avoid sharing their actual positions on important issues in fear of scaring away voters. If you want insight into what the Republican party actually stands for, check out their manifesto, Project 2025. Now this is a reason for real fear for our individual rights and our cherished democratic principles.
