With Vance, the weird goes to 11, Brunswick Beacon

After inciting the Jan. 6 mob into chanting, “Hang Mike Pence,” Donald Trump needed a new Veep. “His reckless words endangered my family and everyone at the Capitol that day,” said Pence, “and I know history will hold Donald Trump accountable.”

Trump rejected dog-shooting Kristi Noem, and Marco Rubio, who called Trump “the most vulgar person to ever aspire to the presidency.” He settled for JD Vance, who called Trump “America’s Hitler.”

“He was the worst choice of all the options. So bad I didn’t even think it was possible,” oneHouse Republican said.

Republican strategist Doug Heye cited “buyer’s concern” after “the myriads of weird issues in the past week.” And that was before we saw Vance’s email saying “I hate the police.”

Heye mentioned Vance’s “eagerness to go into weird places” and talk about “abnormal issues,” making Vance the first VP pick since 1980 with a net-negative favorability rating.

Vance holds the weird view that only people who reproduce should vote. He proposes giving children the vote, cast by their parents who, Vance says, “should have more power” than childless Americans. Vance says non-parents have “no physical commitment to the future of this country” and should pay higher taxes.

To maximize births, Vance proposes a federal ban on women traveling for abortions, and letting police track women’s periods.

Vance says America is being run “by a bunch of childless cat ladies.” He called Kamala Harris “childless,” even though, like George Washington, she is a step-parent to two children!

The Wall Street Journal editorial board called Vance’s remark, “the sort of smart-aleck crack that gets laughs in certain right-wing male precincts” but offends “female voters” and anyone that doesn’t inhabit Vance’s Wide World of Weird.

Vance’s “No representation without gestation!” manifesto is wildly offensive. “At some level,” the Journal wrote, “Mr. Vance really doesn’t respect people who make different life choices.” That’s not just weird, it’s un-American.
